About

My Mission & Vision
I am a strategic communication and journalism major with a special interest in the entertainment industry. My career goal is to be a project manager for studio productions and marketing campaigns.

Intended Industries

Film
The film industry is especially interesting to me. I'm currently enrolled in Intro to Filmmaking. In this course I am learning how to produce films and manage large groups of people as well as communicating multiple tasks.
Music
Music is a great passion of mine so I would be honored to be able to work in the industry. In the music industry I would plan album releases, coordinate press events, and curate events to market music under the label I work for.
Sports
As a sports fan working for the NBA or the NFL would be a dream. For a professional sports team I would oversee the team's social media, brand collaborations and community events.
Design
Outside of school I have taught myself how to use Adobe products such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro. This will help if I decide to pursue a career in graphic design and video editing
Resumé
Throughout my years of college I have strived for greatness with a strong desire to excel. Through my communication courses I have been able to gain a deeper understanding as to how human interaction can affect relationships and productivity. Along with attending classes I have also made it a point to hone skills outside of the classroom that will make me stand apart.
Academic History & Skills
Prairie View A&M University
At PVAMU I studied business management before adjusting my major. When studying this major I especially excelled at business law. I believe that this will be beneficial to me as a project manager as I will be responsible for overseeing that the projects I work on fit legal standards. While attending PVAMU I had a 3.0 GPA and made the Dean's list.
Old Dominion University
At ODU I've been studying communications. I decided that this was the right choice for me as I intend to pursue a career where communication skills are essential. In my time here I have excelled in my intro to filmmaking course as well as my diversity and society course. The diversity and society course is one that I value and take seriously because as a project manager I believe that it is important to understand the diverse life experiences of your team. Everyone has to feel included, respected, and comfortable to achieve maximum efficiency.
Skills
Skills I've accumulated include graphic design, video editing, multitasking, media analysis, teamwork, public speaking, and problem solving. I've been able to acquire these skills from coursework including group projects as well as an independent desire to arrive to the workforce prepared to climb the ladder quickly.
